today was a mighty strange day at work. so i get there, and it's all good, i knew ahead of time that i was going to be training in this new girl. when i got there 10 minutes early, she was already going at it, who knows how long she had been there before i got there. so we start and i immediately sense that something strange is going on. there was people everywhere. i mean everywhere! normally there are umm 1, 2, 3, 4...5...yep, 5 people on each night. when i got there there was already umm. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ...yep, 5 people were already there. then this other guy comes in, he's rather new as well, so apparently he was being trained in as well, nad then about 15 minutes later, another girl comes in. so we had 8 people in the kitchen! AND to make it EVEN BETTER, because that wasn't going to be fun enough, to have 3 extra people (one of them was my boss) running around in the kitchen, the cook was PISSED OFF. boy oh boy was she mad. she was swearing up a storm at those damn potato pancakes. who knows what her deal was. she's just generally not a happy person to begin with, but she was especially angry this evening. so we're all crusin' around the kitchen, doing our stuff, and during tray line (when we put all the food and stuff on all the people's trays) the girl i was training in was like "i have to leave an hour early tonight". i'm like uh, ok, that's fine, we have 33 people on tonight anyway, not a big deal. then, after tray line, my boss told this other girl that she could go home now. pssh. uh, ok. now we're down to 32 people. moral of the story is that by the end of the night we were down to 3 people from 8. it was a fun night. not to mention those potato pancakes and snausage patties. mmmmmmm
