giveaway

I'm going to do my first giveaway so stick around; details will be at the end of this post!
I've always loved to make gifts for people, but I also love to shop, so usually I buy most of my Christmas presents. But this year I think I'm going to make most of them. I can't give up shopping completely, so there will be some of that as well, but for the most part everyone's gonna get something handmade! Some of these are Christmas presents, some are birthday presents, some are things I made to swap with other people, and some I made just......cus.

First up are my fourth pair of longies i knit to keep natalie nice and cozy warm and dry this winter. This was my first time doing this type of ruffle, and I also had lots of extra trim yarn, so I added the stripe at the bottom of each leg. This yarn was also dyed by me with Kool-Aid. The yarn turned out with a lot more purple than I had expected, but it looks nice all knit up.

I don't have much to say about these alphabet letters, except that they're a great toy to have around the house because they don't hurt when you step on them without shoes! They're made up of 2 layers of woven fabric sandwiched with thin quilt batting.

Finally an article of clothing for Natalie that actually turned out! Typically when I follow pattern instructions and sizing I end up with something that would fit her 3.5 year old cousin with room to grow (exaggerating a little bit, but just a little). This time it was bang on. Score.

One of these days we're going to make Natalie a play kitchen (it's on the to-do list for this Christmas, but not sure if we'll get around to it, or if it will have to wait for her second birthday). And what do you need to go with a kitchen but play food! So little by little I'm gonna make her some "num-nums" (she calls all food "num-num").
To get us started are a dozen carrots.

Now that we know the earth is going to end by becoming one big garbage dump, we're all trying to do our part in "going green"...right!? With that I give you my "go green kit". Unpaper towels (12"x12" cotton woven fabric backed with organic flannel dyed to match cloths that you use anywhere you'd normally use paper towels. but instead of tossing them, you wash them!)

unpaper

8 snack bags to use in place of plastic baggies

and 2 wet bags to put the dirty stuff in while it waits to be washed. these have handles that snap together and hang over the oven handle. They're lined with PUL (polyuathane laminate), a waterproof material that is mainly used as a water resistant layer in cloth diapers, but works for lots of other things as well. So you have no risk of the wet towels leaking. Clever, eh!?

Who know going green could be this much fun?

I've mentioned before that I've been making wallets glaore. Here's the proof.

Lotsa wallets, eh? So I bet you're wondering what the heck I'm going to do with all those wallets? And I bet you wonder what the heck this giveaway is all about, dontcha?

I'm going to be giving away one of these wallets to one lucky reader. To enter just leave me a comment and I'll pick a winner at random on Thursday, in honor of the finale of Project Runway (even though our buddy (and Craftstravaganza vendor) Christopher went home last week)!

You'll be able to choose which wallet you want, but some of them have been spoken for.

Have fun!

oooo,oooo... I love Project Runway! I have been a faithful watcher this season. Sad about your friend... I remember him from the craft fair.

I hope I win the wallet!!! I still haven't gotten around to making one for myself even though I have the pattern. :(

The stuff you make is amazing. I don't know how you find the time to do all those things. You have a very lucky daughter.

Jenna! I love all this stuff. I had no idea you've been so busy. I love the unpapertowels and wetbag. That is awesome! I too hate using papertowels on everything and tossing them. This is such a great idea! Are you selling this stuff anywhere?

xo,
Sarah
