attire
natalie had quite the christmas themed wardrobe this year. earlier this fall we were in the habit of going to savers on a regular basis, and I had found this super cute fleece hooded santa jacket in natalie's size. It looked like it had never been worn, but at $4.99 it was too rich for our blood. Something about spending that "much" money on an article of baby clothing from savers, seasonal at that, just doesn't sit right with us. I had it in my hand but ultimately put it back at andy's advising. Well, what do you know, the next time we went to saver's it was still there, and this time it was 50% off so of course i had to get it. $2.50!? can't beat that.
Now it just needed something to go with it. of course jeans would work, but that's, well...to easy. for me at least. So what do I decide to do but dye some yarn and knit her up a pair of matching longies. They'd double as a diaper cover in the process. genius.
Put them together and what do you get...
Then I decided she needed a dress, so I came up with this one.
I didn't have a pattern so it took about 23489704357 tries to get the size right in all the right places. I really liked it but thought it might be a little too wild. besides, i spent all those 23489704357 tries getting the fit right, i might as well make another one.
This time I added ties to the back, hand sewn roses to the front and lined the whole thing to make it a little warmer. I love the way it turned out.
I just realized that I don't have a good photo of her in that dress. I will have to take one before she outgrows it!
