Random Thoughts Day

On my way into work this morning, there was a line of 5 Cincinnati police cars going down east 94...so of course people freaked out and I didn't go over 50 the whole way here. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not true that the po-po can only pick-up in their home state? I remember reading that somewhere, and I'm wondering if it really is true.

We did some yardwork on Sunday afternoon, and while attempting to organize the garage, I noticed that our 5 lb bag of birdfood had a hole gnawed in it, and birdfood had spilled out all over the place. Mice! I called Andy over, worried that the mouse was still in the bin, and he dug around a bit. Soon, he took a huge step back and said "I don't think we'll have to worry about THIS mouse eating our birdfood anymore!" There in the corner was a mouse as flat as can be. He had been squashed by the garage door opener! Being the brave soul he is, Andy scooped him up and threw him out. Ick!

We got to spend a total of 15 minutes with our dear friends and parents-to-be Walt & Laura on Saturday morning. It was the best 15 minutes of the day!

Also on Saturday we prepared Hall C at the MPLS Convention Center for an awards ceremony/formal dance. Then at midnight, we got to go back and tear down! Now that was fun...

It's banned books week! Go read some banned books.

House is on tonight! I just hope we're back from the dentist in time to watch it.

Okay, I think that's enough for today....stay tuned for more random thoughts.

Ignorance is Bliss

Or is it?

We had planned to go to the lake this past weekend for the last time before the snow flies, but plans changed when I had an emergency root canal on Friday afternoon. The doc told me that I'd be out of commission and on Vicodin for the next few days, so we cancelled and decided to stay home. So, after driving myself from East St. Paul to Minneapolis, back to East St. Paul to home, I broke the news to Andy and he made me soup instead. I waited and waited and waited some more for the pain to start, but it never did. I was sad that I didn't need that Vicodin afterall. Or maybe it was because I've had so much surgery on my mouth that I'm numb to it all. 5 years ago Saturday I had my jaw surgery. I guess those bottom gums ARE numb for life, ya know, since the feeling in them didn't come back in the first 2 years and all.

And later on this week I get the sewing machine for a few weeks so I can finally make curtains for our bedroom! yippie skippy!!

So Much to Say

And my hell is the closet I'm stuck inside
Can't see the light
And my heaven is a nice house in the sky
Got central heating and Im alright
Yeah yeah yeah can't see the light
Keep it locked up inside dont talk about it
Talk about the weather
Yeah yeah yeah can't see the light
Open up my head and let me out little baby
Here we have been standing for a long long time
Treading trodden trails for a long long time

I find sometimes its easy to be myself
Sometimes I find better to be somebody else

I see you young and soft little baby
Little feet little hands little feet little hands little baby
A year of crying and the words creep up inside
Creep into mind yeah
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
Here we have been standing for a long long time
Treading trodden trails for a long long time

I find sometimes its easy to be myself
Sometimes I find better to be somebody else

So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say
So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say

Open up my head and let me out little baby

What a sad sad day!

Yesterday, that is. So we have this pond in our backyard, right? And we had (originally) 3 little 25 center goldfish in it, right? Well, Marshall died right away. Stanthony died back in the middle of summer--he didn't tolerate the water change very well. But Stalbans was doing so so well! He was getting really big and would come out and swim around for us. What a good fish he was. By now I'm sure you've realized that he died too :(

Andy was out yesterday moving the flowers away from the pond so they didn't drop their petals in the water and muck it up, only to see Stalbans sunny-side up along side the pond. If you live in the area, you'll know that we got lots and lots of rain on Saturday & Sunday. I guess the pond overflowed and he slipped out. What a way to go. Burial will be this evening at 7pm sharp. Refreshments to be served after the service.
