About a week ago we got pre-approved for a home mortgage loan. We're really becoming adults I guess. Andy also had 3 interviews within the past 6 days, so we're praying that something happens with at least one of them. We looked at a house last night, Andy with high hopes that came from the really nice looking photos on the online. Me, not so much. I think I've learned my lesson with the second house we looked at. Unfortunately we vetoed it almost immediately; maybe if we could just live out of the basement it'd work for us, but I don't see that happening. Good news is that house-hunting season is quickly approaching and we'll have plenty of houses to choose from. Or so we hope ;)

Get you final payments in for the Craftstravaganza by tomorrow! Here's to hoping for a big load of mail tonight & tomorrow night. Looks like we'll also be making quite the deposit (at the bank) this evening. woo-hoo.

In other news: T minus approx. 2 weeks until Andy & I are either aunts or uncles!!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee can't wait to hold the baby!!!

What an interesting day I had yesterday. We got dumped on pretty hard core. I don't know what the official total was, but from my unofficial estimate I shoveled around a foot of thick, heavy wet snow off the sidewalks yesterday. It took me a good 2.5 hours to shovel my car out (after not one but 2 of our neighbors blew their snow onto it), to shovel all the sidewalks & stairs and an area for the dog. I can't believe how high some of the drifts were; one had to of been at least 3.5 feet high. Lola isn't too happy about all the snow, but she sure is cute romping through it :)

I actually didn't even make it into work yesterday because our braniac neighbors got their van stuck in the alleyway right behind my car. I'm confident that they would have been able to un-stuck themselves, but instead they just went inside. A few hours later they come back out with their snowblower and blow all the snow from around the van onto my newly cleaned off & shoveled around car. I was not a happy camper. At least the snow looks pretty in all the trees.

On a happier note I think we have decided on all the applications. We'll be sending out acceptance packets this weekend. woo-hoo!

Applications for the SPC are pouring in! The deadline to get them in is this Saturday. We'll make final decisions over the weekend. Although I don't want to have to decline anyone, it'll be nice if we get enough that we'll be able to pick & choose only the best ones for the event. Everyday I wake up looking forward to coming home and checking the mail. It's the highlight of my days!

We had a pretty decent weekend. On Saturday we went to a Wells Fargo Home Mortgage seminar at which we were the only 2 people in attendance. Good thing we didn't arrive an hour early like they told us to. The seminar apparently isn't as popular as they thought it would be. We learned some stuff via a powerpoint presentation, and then we were going to sit down with them & get pre-approved. Andy decided he was too hungry so we went to an Asian buffet across the street. We'd go back to Wells Fargo after lunch to finish our "meeting". Well, we got there at the right time because as we were leaving there must have been 50+ people standing in line. It was a decent buffet, but I would have rather of gone next door to Subway. They must have been anxious to get us out of there because some dude took Andy's plate away from him; it was sitting directly in front of him & he was still eating off of it!

So we head back to the Wells Fargo and our guy was in a meeting with someone. We'd expected he would be, but he'd told us he'd be done with it in 15 minutes or so. We sat around for 45 minutes playing with a mute 5 year old and his lego trucks before we decided to just leave. Apparently he's going to call us today. We'll see.

When we got home I got sick from lunch :( not a fun night, but we did watch Happy Gilmore!

Sunday it was my sister's baby shower. it was quite fun and she got lots of good baby stuff. The shower was quite uneventful, aside from her aunt-in-law talking about penis mints and the champagne glasses with babies crawling up the sides of them. Her next shower is in 2 weeks, and then the baby is due 3 weeks later. We're all getting very excited!!!

Something very sad happened last night.
Well, something fun, and then something sad. I'll start with the fun.
Andy was having a sad day at work so I suggested we go to his favorite eating establishment for dinner. I think it made him happy becuase he knows how much I don't really care for the restaurant. Anyways, we made a night of it by hopping on the city bus (a first for me!) and going downtown st. paul. our first stop was a brew pub for happy hour. from there we walked a couple blocks to the restaurant. We had good food and hung out for a bit before heading back to the bus stop. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the bus to pick us up but it was okay cus the bus stop had a little building with heat lamps in it so we didn't freeze to death. That was the fun part.

Andy checked his email when we got home and for some reason he's still on the pug rescue e-mail list. Despite his efforts to be removed since we got Lola he's still getting the messages. We were shocked and heartbroken to hear that Lola's sister, Gigi was up for adoption once again. FOR THE FOURTH TIME. The poor little thing is only 4 years old and she's onto her fourth home already. I wanted to take her but Andy wasn't so sure. I made him call Gigi's current owner and she told him that Gigi is on her way to a "pug-loving home". Gosh I hope so. No dog deserves to be shuffled around like that.
