I have nothing to say!

I really don't!
We've been keeping busy, but it's been nothing interesting, unfortunately. Got a landline yesterday, and getting the security system installed/activated tomorrow. Gardening, cleaning, junky junk like that.
I'm looking forward to this weekend though. We're finally going up to the lake! We've been there barely once this summer (for about 12 hours back at the beginning of June). I love love LOVE it there and so does Lola because she gets to scamper without us being worried about her running off. Plus she likes going on the boat :)

I wish I had something interesting to say but I really don't. Last year at this time we were planning our trip to Paris. Sadly we won't be doing anything so extravagant for our 2-year anniversary :(

Stay tuned for more boring-ness!

Hot off the Press

One of my favoritest things about summertime is the fresh produce! We've been getting some stuff here and there, but last night after work I was pleasantly surprised to see that the garden had produced almost an entire meal! See for yourself if you don't believe me!

Change it up

As of this Saturday I'll be driving a new (to me) car. The Krueger/Kunkel clan has done some car-swapping. My mom bought Andy's mom's SUV, we're buying my mom's car and Andy's parents are buying my car. Pretty slick, especially since my mom is giving us a great deal on her car, and since I've wanted that thing since she first got it--a sunroof and heated leather seats? Yes, please.

We have a security system installed in the house but haven't gotten around to activating it. After yesterday's debacle, we decided that it's a good time to get on that. They'll be coming late this afternoon to hook us up.

After some discussion we've decided that it's purt near time to try training Lola (again!). She's become a real pain in my ass since we moved into the new house. She's incessantly at my (no one else's!) feet and follows me around EVERYWHERE I go. At first it was cute, but now not so much. You'd think she'd learn after being stepped on, and I swear to you one of these days she's gonna break me a bone. Mark. My. Words. Oh, and she needs to learn how to COME. So simple, yet so difficult. Good thing she's cute.

Carried Away

I don't spend as much time in the garden as I should be--weeding it and whatnot becuase whenever I do go out there I get so carried away. Case in point: last night I went out there with the intentions of watering the flowers and pulling a few large weeds. I ended up pulling out many many weeds, dead-heading some of the lilies that are no longer, digging out old leaves that the previous owner used as mulch (note to self: NEVER do this! It's a nightmare to un-do!), dead-heading a few other flowering plants, trimming a couple over-grown bushes, PULLED up entire plants that the previous owner had planted. The ones I speak of were crammed in a small-ish area and just did not have enough room to grow properly. I don't think she realized that plants GROW and just becuause they weren't big when she planted them didn't mean they weren't going to get big. Oh well, I got a lot done and it looks a ton better. Andy also helped me with laying down some new wood chips. Dang it all if I had only taken a before shot! I should have known I'd get out of hand!

I love this photo of Nadia. Andy took it while I was trying to make her smile on Saturday afternoon. She looks so much like her mamma when she smiles.

Okay, just because you asked here's one of her smiling

(HOT) weekend re-cap

I don't know exactly how hot it was over the weekend, but it was HOT. I heard on the radio on Sunday afternoon that it was 100 degrees with a heat index of 103. It really didn't feel that warm at that time so it just makes me wonder how hot it got on Saturday because to me it felt much hotter Saturday vs. Sunday.

AAAAAAAAAAnyways, I left work a bit early on Friday and got home just in time for my sister to arrive. She had some things going on Friday evening and Saturday morning over in our part of town so rather than going out to nowhere-ville where she lives she just came to our house for the night. She just started her training to become a manager at Baker's Square and gets free everything so she brought us a huge slice of French Silk Pie! Yummers. We didn't do much Friday night, just hung out & sat out on the patio. Andy opened a bottle of wine and between the 3 of us it was gone by 11.

Saturday morning we were going to go to the Farmer's Market/Art Festival, but I was sooooo tired at 8:00 that I just told Andy to go without me. There was no art festival as advertised so I didn't miss out on anything. Around 10:30 to noon the Rondo Day's Parade came by our house. We went out and sat on the sidewalk in the shade, but it was about the worst parade I've ever seen. 90% politicians and 10% drill teams. The drill teams was interesting to watch, but we couldn't see anything because people kept standing in front of us. Whatever. At one point, a "float" came by full of people. Some idiot on it had a huge squirtgun

and thought it'd be funny to squirt everyone. Yeah. Haha very funny that it got in my eyes. NOT COOL. I glared at him and he saw me. To "apologize" he chucked a bunch of stupid mardi gras beads in my direction. They got stuck in the tree.

At another point one of the politicians herself was out wandering the crowds and picked us, the only whities in the group to shake our hands. I don't like shaking hands so I didn't offer my hand. She was pissed. Like my sister said though, if she doesn't have a thick skin she's a crappy politician! Maybe I should have just humored her, but 1) why would she only shake the whities hands? and 2) she had been shaking people's hands for a good mile before she got to us--do I want all those germs on my hands? no thanks!

The parade ended, well, we went back in the house before it did, around noon and boy did it ever clear out fast! We sat around and Holly left for her wedding shower. Andy & I went to wal-mart looking for Dickies but had no luck. I wanted to buy a baby toy but Andy said no so we went home and took a nap. Around 2:30 my sister & brother-in-law dropped off our neice on their way to a wedding. Nadia was much more content this time than she was last time we baby-sat her. They came back around 5:30 to pick her up and bring her to the reception.

We ordered Pizza Hut around 6:30 and they said it would be over an hour so we were pleasently surprised when the doorbell rang at 7. Yummy Pizza Hut! We watched more Gilmore Girls and then went for a walk to return some video rentals.

I'm just going to skip over Sunday though because it really wasn't a great day at all. So that was our weekend--

Backyard

The garden has been going nuts with all this heat we've been having. Unfortunately it's also been incredibly dry here, so it's probably not doing as well as it should, but I've been trying hard to give it a good watering a couple times a week. I was looking at the photos of the yard from when we were just looking at the house and from when we first moved in and it's so fun to see how it has all changed. Here are some photos I took of the backyard last night:

The End.

I still can't belive it's over. It went by so fast. Andy & I compared the SPC to our wedding, only this was waaaaay more stressful--if you can believe it! Here we had to try to make 2k STRANGERS happy, whereas for our wedding we only had to please 80 or so close friends and family members. Quite the difference there my friend.

We would NOT have been able to do it without the help of:
My Mom & Dad
Andy's Mom & Dad
Andy's brothers
My sisters
Walt & Laura
Abby & Aaron
Micah & Carrie

You guys were ALL WONDERFUL and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You all get a fuzzy pink & green bon bon.

Abigail I bought you your little owl! She actually only brought one, and we coveted it for you before the show even started! I really thought we would be doing more shopping than we did (Andy bought a $10 shirt and I bought a $10 barette) but in all honesty we didn't have time, sadly.

I'm starting to beam back down to earth; been up in outer space since it ended and took a much needed day off of work yesterday.

So, again, thanks to all you guys for helping us out! You Rock.
To those that couldn't make it, we hope to see you there in 2007! Andy posted some photos on his blog if you'd like to see them. We'll have stats and whatnot up on the Craftstravaganza website in the next couple of days.

ps. Happy Anniversary to Laurie & Ryan--we miss you guys!!!
